Down through the years, devotional readings, recit-ing of poems, prayers, confession of scriptures, and
within recent years the performance of the “spoken word” have become life changing inspirations to many
people all around the world.  These forms of words spoken seem to raise drooped eye brows, lift up bowed
down heads, and fill with joy empty souls.  What is it about words being confessed that arouses so many
emotions and activates so much empowerment within the lives of the speakers as well as the hearers of
such “spoken words”? Life and Death are truly in the power of the tongue.  We believe and therefore we
speak. We shall have whatever we say.

This book is an attempt to offer readers, leaders, teachers, speakers, and hearers powerful positive words
in literary forms such as devotional readings, poems, prayers, scriptures, and spoken words that I believe
will produce winning attitudes, wellness, wholeness, and wealth. The book is about faith and its process to
fruition and manifestation.  Every lesson addresses a requirement of faith so that by the completion of the
book the reader will increase his or her faith by implementing certain principles and practices that successful
men and women have utilized for thousands of years.  Faith is freed by forgiveness and activated by
hearing, believing, confessing, acting, and being patient in or standing on spoken or written words.   This
book contains eight lessons.  Eight is the number that represents new beginnings.  It can be utilized as a
daily devotional or inspirational guide, Bible Study tool, as well as literary inserts for performances,
presentations, sermons, or speeches.  I have included an addendum entitled “lesson guide” which is
designed for study groups as well as an addendum entitled “personal reflection” which is designed for the
reader to record his or her thoughts.
The title tells the story.  Serenity is the ability to be at peace and remain calm without agitation in a season
of challenging times.  We all go through challenging times.  We often go through periods when nothing
seems to work.  The pressures and problems of life seem too much to bear.  This is when we need our faith
to activate and bring us serenity.  This serenity makes a loud statement that no matter what is happening on
the outside of us, our inner man is at peace.

Security is being in a position whereby you are pro-tected and have provision.  Due to tragedies within
recent years, there has been much discussion on the topic of security.  Am I really safe?  Am I really
secured?  Who can I trust or who can I depend on in my time of need? These and other similar questions
haunt and travel within the minds of people all over the world.  During these times, faith should surface and
produce security.  This security will boast that I Am covered on every side.  Though ten thousands should
fall on my left and my right, it shall not come near me (Psalm 91:7).

Success is the ability to meet objectives, goals, and the visions that you were inspired to set for yourself.  As
long as you remain the same, attempt to do the same, with no effort to change, success can never be
achieved.  But success’ conception is when one begins to set objectives, goals, and visions for himself.  The
concept of success is often judged by others, but it really should only be judged by you.  People can offer
their predictions and prophecies about who you are and where you are headed; however, only you can
determine your success.  It is not what the scoreboard says, what your bank account says, and not what the
media says.  During your challenging times of worldly opinions, faith should arise and produce success.
This success should proclaim that I am victorious in any and every situation.
As you read these pages, it is my prayer and my de-sire that the spoken words of this book bless you
beyond measure and bring you much serenity, security, and success in your life.
